Hard to judge the new incarnation of the Stag as we arrived during the middle of a beer festival at the pub - a large marquee in the impressive grassed garden. A bit of a warren of buildings, with some character although parts of the interior are pretty modernized. At the bar were four unclipped pumps as all the action was in the tent. An excellent selection of mainly local ales here and all stillaged - we sampled Tring Kokaluku, two from Binghams and Andwell Magna Carta and all were in excellent nick. Highly impressive stuff. I won’t leave a rating but I’d be very keen to drop back here again as they clearly know how to order and condition their beer.

December 2007 (as Stag & Hounds)
A nice, uncomplicated rural boozer dispensing a good range of five ales from local breweries and from further afield in very good condition - quality pints of Hogsback Hop Garden Gold and Rebellion Booby Trap quaffed on my visit. Real fire, large garden and skittle alley tick some more boxes for the enthusiast. Hope to visit again soon and I’d recommend a detour to sample it. Rated 8
