This community owned pub is well described by and unchanged from Quinno’s review below. However I visited between the two lockdowns this year and what is currently different is that because it is quite tight inside and difficult to socially distance, you have to currently enter the pub from the garden and they have added additional undercover outside areas in the form of a large marquee and one of those enclosed two person bubbles that certain restaurants have been providing. And the outside space is served by a pop up bar area providing a few draft beer taps which luckily for us included a couple of Rebellion beers.
For me the rustic main bar described below is the reason to visit so I hope for the pubs sake they can get back to normality as quickly as possible.

Paid a revisit last week and pleased to report that little has changed here. It’s a nice little place, well-appointed overlooking the village green and church, a quintessentially English scene. A three-roomed quiet pub, purchased by the community in 1987. The rustic main bar is for drinking, with character provided by a large fireplace and horse brasses. There are rooms either side of this for dining. Traditionally furnished throughout. There’s a garden area off to the right with apple trees. This continues down the side of the pub and opens up to a larger grassed area to the rear which also boasts a kids play area. Five pumps with four on - Rebellion IPA, Rebellion Smuggler, TT Landlord and Courage Best with Harveys Best turned. Old Rosie cider also on. I went for the Smuggler and enjoyed a good half. Staff were friendly and efficient and there was already a decent trade beginning to build up in the early afternoon. A place to be cherished and emulated.

Lovely rustic village pub (owned by the village in fact), boasting five ales, all of which were fairly mainstream - could do with a little more imagination on that front. The three I had were served in good condition. No electronic distractions, so a great place to go for good conversation and a couple of ales. Rated 7
