As Mr Fastard describes well the Prince of Wales is an attractive country pub on the edge of the picture postcard village Green Tye. It is rather small inside with a plain traditional wooden decor. The bar area is in two sections separated by an archway with limited bench seating and somehow they manage to squeeze in a dartboard as well. Outside there is a small grassed area to the front of the pub and a car park out back. And one of the key reasons to visit is because of the Green Tye brewery, housed in a shed out back.
I visited for their beer festival over the bank holiday weekend and as usual the beers were on top form, especially the Union Jack bitter.

A small country pub with The Green Tye brewery attached to the rear. The public bar at the front extends to the left and right of the front door and has settles, chairs and a real fire.Through an arch is a longer seating area, although nominally the lounge this is just an extension of the public bar.Four handpumps ,with two dedicated to Green Tye beers,Union Jack and a creamy Hadham Gold on my trip while the two guests were Wadsworth Henry's IPA and Rudgate Summer Hop.Ale quality is high and there is also a large selection of single malts ,cider and perry.A board by the road states that food is available at lunchtime and evening but no sign of this when I was in,and I got the impression that this is really a drinkers haven and popular with the villagers.Well worth using the satnav to locate, try and persuade someone else to drive and imbibe freely.
