We were in here last night on our Pub crawl of Barnet. Its now a Fullers house as already said but its a very nice well kept pub. Looks like its recently been decorated. Nice traditional pub with Two bars one at front and a larger bar at back where there was a band playing Jazz. I had Two pints Of ESB and a Pint of London Pride both Ales were in excellent condition. We found the staff & other customers very welcoming and polite. I would definitely recommend popping in if passing I will adding this Pub to our regular crawl of Barnet.

Situated on the northern edge of town is The White Lion, a rare Fullers house for this part of London.

It’s an attractive looking pub externally with double fronted bay windows featuring “Public Bar” in the leaded coloured windows. Inside is a comfortable carpeted pub with horse brasses and copper plates contributing to something of a country pub feel. Above a fireplace, a flat screen TV had been positioned in a rather temporary manner, presumably for the Six Nations Rugby Internationals.

A Taylor Walker brass plaque is indicative of former ownership. There’s also a framed photograph showing the pub frontage adorned with colourful flowers, when the pub was a free house prior to its acquisition by Fullers.
Disappointingly, only 2 of the 4 handpumps were clipped, offering London Pride and Front Row. The London Pride – £ 3.00p – was quite good.

This is a reasonable pub to call in for one if passing through

This place has a restaurant feel, but the small separate bar area is very relaxed and I enjoyed my time here. The barman and governor were very friendly and I got chatting to a regular at the bar who seemed nice enough. The Discovery was top notch and Pride, ESB and Osset Brewery's Black Bull were also available alongside some standard lagers. There are a couple of old TVs and the pub has Sky Sports which is always handy.

I will pop back in again based on the hospitality that I was shown.
