Fairly small pub compared to other Wetherspoon's with an L shaped bar and 2 distinct drinking areas.Place could do with an update as it was very grubby.Very poor selection of real ales on my visit.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Wagon Works (JD Wetherspoon)

One of the rarer 'spoons that actually looks like a pub rather than a converted showroom (because that is what it has always been). Large 'L'-shape bar with the standard furniture and decor. Resasonable selection of guest ales from the ten handpumps, in addition to the usual suspects, including two from Cottage Brewing and HPA from Hammerpot Brewery (£2.35). (NB - Review dates from August 2011.)

'Wagon Works'
Formerly the Old Tavern, now a Wetherspoons 'Wagon Works' in tribute to Eastleigh history with Train & Carriage making. It’s really nice to see this pub redecorated and refurbished, quite a contrast to its former days, they have interesting display of sepia photographs around the bar of all things Locomotive (although I couldn’t figure out the large over the top mirrors that you can’t see into!)
I enjoyed a lunchtime pint of Admiral Nelsons, with their burger deal for £4.75. They had at least 6 other real ales on tap, and were advertising a beer festival for the next month. The bar staff were friendly enough, but I guess it just lacked a bit of atmosphere. However it was nice to see that the old pub is being used by all generations Eastleigh’s community. 27th October 2009
