Remains a very pleasant spot as described by Q below, and busy on a Monday afternoon with locals in the bar and ladies taking tea in the plusher of the lounges. Looks like the place the locals congregate, no doubt especially so on Tuesday market day, leaving the other hotels to the coach trips.
A pity that the beer seems to have taken a turn for the worse, just Pedigree, EPA and a rebadged house bitter which claims to be brewed locally, but was nothing to write home about. That notwithstanding it would make a fine first call if you're exploring Moreton.

Large hotel, bar & restaurant facing the market. Surprisingly decent inside, a warren of rooms with a fair bit of character. Three(!) separate rooms all facing the road; the right hand one has aged panelling and exposed brick walls with a number of large mirrors framed in tartan plus a couple of long button back chocolate brown banquettes - tidy. Move beyond the central bar room as you enter and follow round to the right where the main servery is located. Small astroturf seating to rear, surrounded by old stables which now serve as guest rooms. I stayed in the main bar, which had worn paved flooring, some nice leaded glass work and a framed beer mat collection. Selection of papers available. Three ales on, Brakspear Bitter, a house ale from Wickwar and Wychwood Gold. My half of the latter was, despite being sparklerised, in pretty good shape. The busiest outlet visited and it was easy to see why. I’d happily go back.

The Redesdale Arms is a decent looking pub in the middle of Moreton.
When i first visited this pub it was a free house and there were three real ales on the bar i had a drink of Bass the other beers were Courage best and John Smiths on handpump.
The photo was taken recently but i did'nt go in here on this occasion.
