Helen Iwanczuk left this review about The Nelson Inn

The Nelson Inn is located just outside of Cirencester town centre. We were looking for a quieter location after the enthusiastic rugby fans we encountered at The Malborough Arms.
The Nelson Inn is worth visiting for the interior alone. The Ward Room has the distinction of a bar shaped like an Eighteenth Century Man of War ship. This is further enhanced by a parquet floor, traditional wooden pub furniture and a roaring open fire. It felt like a really cosy place to enjoy a meal, but as we had already eaten at The Drillman's Arms, we just glanced at the menu for future reference.
The cosy ambience was briefly interrupted by a wailing toddler, but this did not spoil our experience of The Nelson. The only minor quibble we have, is that Bombardier was the only ale on offer.

The Nelson Inn is a stone built pub on a nice looking street that is not that far from the town centre.
Once inside here the pub had a nautical feel to it and htere was one real ale on the bar this was Smiles bitter and this was a nice drink.

Pub visited 3 August 2002.
