Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Elms (JD Wetherspoon)
Very large suburban roadhouse with a hint of brewer's Tudor; little changed externally, but given the typical 'spoons treatment inside. Features an overall 'L'-shaped bar with the usual selection of booths and larger seating areas. Also has some patio tables out front. Three banks of six handpumps, but quite a few duplicates and 'available son's; and, even more annoyingly, at least two interesting beers that appeared to be on but were not... In the end, opted for the local St George's Brickfields IPA (£2.30) which was decent enough, but I was left with the strong impression that the management could do a lot better here.

This is a conversion of an original old pub and is named after a tree.
It is GBG 2014 listed. This is a huge pub even by Spoons standards so it's hardly surprising it ended up in their hands. Inside it is the usual Spoons fixtures and fittings.
There were 18 handpumps which should be great news but sadly I only counted two beers from the current guest list, Coach House Gunpowder Mild and Wood's Shropshire Lad. The rest (around 4 were available soon and some doubled up) consisted of five Adnam's, three Greene King, Doom Bore and London Pride. To me this is a poor selection for any Spoons let alone one that is GBG listed. What's the point of having eighteen handpumps if they are just going to fill them with national brands?
I went for the Gunpowder Mild (£2.20) which was in good nick.
Overall I found this place disappointing especially as it is GBG listed. There are two other GBG pubs in Leigh so why bother including a Spoons with a poor selection of ales?

I visited this pub last week,and I was not impressed as there where ony 3 beers avaliable out of 8 pumps
