Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Village

The distinctive green-tiled exterior shows that this was formerly known as the Horse & Groom, and while this now styles itself as a 'café bar' it retains much of its former United Breweries heritage (including the window glazing). 'L'-shaped bar, with traditional furniture and slightly eclectic decor, but on a Friday afternoon it had a real mix of customers (including young families and students). No handpumps on the counter, but two Long Man beers were available on gravity from casks at the back of the bar: APA and an excellent Old Man (£3.80).

Steve C left this review about The Horse & Groom

The Horse and Groom is a U shaped pub with a bar billiards table to the left of the bar and a stage area with dance space in front to the right of the bar. There is an advertised roof garden that I did not investigate due to inclement weather during my recent midweek evening visit. There is a plasma screen, but this was turned off during a Premier League match so I guess there is no Sky Sports. There was some background music playing and I think that I wandered in during a break in some live music as there was a guitar and microphone set up on the stage. The walls are adorned with blown up photographs of previous party nights and there are a few hanging musical instruments.
Stowford Press cider and standard draught products are available from this Enterprise Inns pub. The bar also supports four hand pumps that were drawing Harvey’s Best, Landlord, HSB and Doom Bar.

I thought that the barmaid was a little frosty, but this is a nice little pub that I would return to if in the area.
