More restaurant than pub, an old pub at the top of the High St. originally two bars now a dining room only to the right and a dining room with the counter to the left. Three pulls with Titanic Plum Porter, Box Steam Soul Train and enticingly named Dorset Knob from Dorset Brewing Co. I had a length of Dorset Knob and was satisfied. A GBG2021 listed “pub”.

A lovely white rendered cottagey styled pub and restaurant, with a nice rear patio area.

The interior has two rooms, both seem to be food orientated, but one is an adult room, the other a family room. The adult lounge/dining area is in white and wood panel, with a stone flagged floor, with a nice fireplace and arty pictures, as well as some landscape photos on the walls. The other room seemed to be in a white and grey wood panel, with ceiling beams – but the light made it difficult to tell, as i could only see through from the other room and the central bar served both rooms that between them formed an L-shape. The service was friendly and the clientele mixed. There was no TV that i saw and the music was general and at a decent level.

Beer; tap stuff, with Adnams Bitter and Ringwood Bitter on handpull.

A nice place to visit – a good mix of old and new, although i would be more likely to come back and eat here rather than just drink.
