A craft bar stroke Cafe aimed I would imagine at the areas student population. Very quiet on a Friday late morning with one other punter coming in during my twenty minutes or so stay, I did return that evening and found a few more in attendance. The beer availability has been described below by Bucking Fastard. A decent enough place but a little out of the way.

I found this on a Bar-Trek crawl route. It's just outside the ring road but on the railway station side of town - so I thought I would start my ticking her.

A shop conversion under flats in a quiet part of town. A little disorientating on entry, as rather than a bar, you are confronted with cake displays. Didn't take long to find the electronic chalk board for a list of keg beers - mainly from the Triumph brewery (as you would expect).

The 1919 Amber Bitter was OK.

A modern shop unit below student accomodation ,this bar is the tap for Triumph as well as a cafe in the morning. It's open plan ,dining style tables to the front, some high tables to the side,a rear bar and open kitchen but the brew kit is hidden away.
On the screen on my visit was Triumph SuperFrank,1919 Amber Bitter,1940 IPA,and 1977 Chocolate Stout with guests Estrella Damm,Underground Medicine Mind Fuzz and In Your Head,Murphy's Stout,Angelo Poretti,Twisted Barrel Sine Qua Non West Coast IPA,Pasta Sour and Safeguard IPA.There are sparkling ciders too,and nothing we sampled was overcarbonated or too cold .With some style variance and a friendly welcome this would be a good place to sample some indie beer ,but maybe not an ideal spot for a long session. The names of the Triumph beers mainly relate to famous dates for this City.
