E TA left this review about Saxon Inn

Originally 3 cottages, The Saxon was converted into a pub in the 1950s. The name probably refers to the nearby hillforts, although these actually pre-date the Saxon period. It is down an alley off the main road, has limited parking and a large, tidy back garden overlooked by picture windows in the rear bar. The front bar is mainly for civilised drinkers, while the rear bar is laid for diners. Both bars are carpeted and the furniture is traditionally styled and fairly new. It appears to have been recently refurbed and is is excellent decorative order, more like a middle class home than a pub. It does B&B and has a GBG entry. The food menu is fantastic, if a little pricey, and there are 4 ales on. I had Flack's Double Drop which was in perfect condition. There is also free wifi. Highly recommended for food and beer if you're in the area.
