Unchanged since the previous review, this place is reached either from Binsey or Jericho via Port Meadow, on the left side of the Thames, accessed via the narrow Rainbow Bridge to what is part of Medley Manor Farm, purveyor of asparagus.
As mentioned, there’s a converted caravan, lawn, halved oil drums as planters, flower beds and gravel paths to picnic benches, some covered with lovely views out over the Thames. Then you notice the sign indicating the entrance to the Walled Garden (which can double as a function space) and what a garden: this has to be one of the largest and most spectacular beer gardens in the country (see photos), looking more like something attached to a National Trust property, with pond, beautifully tended flowerbeds and a gaggle of studenty types, the idyllic rural birdsong punctuated by their loud belching.
The ale front isn’t quite so bucolic, with four taps dispensing a cider, a lager, something else and Tap Social’s Jobsworth at £2.90 a half, freezing cold and tasteless; I surreptitiously fed it to the begonias.
There’s a lovely concept here given fine weather and if the place could turn over a new leaf and get a good cask selection, this would get the score up, but the walled garden is a bonus.

A summer bar located on the Binsey side of the Thames, but which can be reached from Jericho if walking across the area of common land known as Port Meadow. A converted caravan, painted orange serves a tree-surrounded garden, with numerous pub benches by the river. Beer, wine, cocktails, coffee and tea available along with a basic wood-fired pizza menu (which also has a 'summer sharing plate' that includes essentials such as beetroot ricotta and wood-fired artichoke hearts). Four keg taps, with three in operation on a summer Sunday afternoon visit: Little Ox Oxford Pilsner, Tap Social Movement Time Better Spent and Cotswold Prime Cider (the latter nothing to do with Logan Paul or KSI). Opening times limited to the summer and a brief Christmas & New Year window, as well as appearing to be weather-dependent looking at their Facebook page.
