Blackthorn _ left this review about Two Crows

Recently opened on the site of a former restaurant, this still describes itself as a gastro-pub and it does feel like it might perhaps be more geared up for dining with a small bucket for cutlery and napkins on all the tables, although that said there were certainly more people drinking than eating on our recent Saturday afternoon visit.

Décor wise it’s a little unusual, with the boards on the floor having been painted in quite a vivid hue of green, but other than that it’s fairly conventional with the walls being plain white plaster apart from a brick chimney breast, basic wooden tables and old school chairs. A large old Guinness barrel was provided for vertical drinking perhaps, and in a nod to the pub’s name, a couple of crows on the wall had been pressed in to use as light fittings. The main attraction though was the covered, outside seating area at the front of the pub which was a pleasant enough spot to sit and watch the world go by, although it is located on a fairly busy junction.

Unfortunately, there were no real ales on tap, although I did spot a couple of Brew Dog options on keg including Punk IPA, along with a premium lager or two. Even worse, there was no cider, although when asked the landlord, who was certainly something of a character, did produce a quite unusual selection of bottles. Overall, not bad for a quick pit stop on a nice day, bit it’s not somewhere I’d rush back to unless it were perhaps to sample the food offering.
