E TA left this review about Seafire Taproom

A former shop that has been decorated with timber around the walls and a bar with a wriggly tin frontage. The name is a nod to the nearby Fleet Air Arm base, HMS Daedalus, from where the eponymous aircraft flew, though it’s now known as Solent Airport. There are some tables and chairs out at the front for when the weather permits. When we visited there was a selection of German beers celebrating (belatedly) Oktoberfest, an illusion not really strengthened by German music on the HiFi. The beers were available in pints or 2-pint ‘steins’. I suspect there would be more cask ales on if we’d come at a different time – as it was, there was only one ale on draft, Hip Hop Pale Ale, which was in excellent condition. There was also a selection of canned beers, craft and foreign. It was friendly, convivial and pleasant, a great addition to the local ale scene, and I’ll make a point of coming back when I’m next in the area, hopefully to see a wider ale selection.
