Blue Scrumpy left this review about Beer Matters

Small micropub that has opened fairly recently. The pub intentionally has limited opening hours, opening just 4 days per week and closing early each day, as they don't wish to compete with the late night drinking scene in Barnstaple, not that it was a particularly lively night out on a cold, wet Wednesday in March.

Real ales on were GT Ales Thirst of Many, Treens Classic, Exeter Ferryman & Darkness, Clearwater Cashmere & First Chop MCR. The real cider was Green Man Landkey Gold.

The friendly husband and wife owners were both present and I picked up a copy of the local CAMRA guide, it having only been dropped off that day. The pub features on the front page, yet at the time of visiting, it wasn't listed on the WhatPub website. I have since brought it their attention, as the owners believed that they had to be open for 12 months before they could be listed!

Dogs are welcome. This is a typical friendly micropub that was the highlight of my visit to Barnstaple.
