On the popular Thomas Street with a large front drinking area extending partially into the road,this is rather a standard real ale free bar for the younger drinker.There are seating booths to the immediate left,refectory tables infront of the mid ships bar and then a rear area which looked more set up for dining rather than drinking.
Friendly,helpful staff but a pedestrian keg line up from which Social Pilsner seemed the best option on a hot day.Instantly forgettable,no need to return.

Unlike most places I've been in with the word "Social" in the title, this one appears to mean it. Rather than loads of single tables for people to read or play on their laptop, this one has several communal tables. It was pretty busy on my Friday, early afternoon visit, so I went up a few steps to the room at the rear where I was told that I couldn't sit at a table because it was "dining only". The tables weren't reserved and there was no-one at all eating. There's no real ale and a half of, I think, Estrella wasn't cheap. It's not for me, but it's still better than some similar places.
