Very smart hotel and pub right opposite the Abbey Mill shops. Large beer garden which was busy on a hot day. 4 beers on the bar with 2 from Wye Valley - Butty Bach and Wild Hare (presumably a rebadged beer?). Also the local Baa brewery IPA from Chepstow and the very local Kingstone brewery Tewdricks Tipple. I went for the Baa IPA which was fine. I would happily call again.

Having spotted this on the way to the other pubs in the North part of the village still to do and there being no close parking at one decided to investigate.

You enter through the 1950's extension to the main old building and into the bar/restaurant area with the bar on the back wall. There is a mixture of some tables laid up for food but this was for the people booked in the evening as a member of staff enquired if we wanted food the kitchen shuts as 3 and the staff were getting ready for later.

After that hoards of people continue to arrive. Looking at the attire they had probably been walking and fancied a well rewarded drink.

To the left of the bar there is plush lounge which I only peered through the opening on leaving. On the way to the toilets in the front part of the old building there appeared to be a more formal dinning area with a glass door into it.

All in all a very pleasant place to be and had a couple of hand pumps on but didn't note what they were but think was from local brewery Wye Valley. Cider on tap was from Aspalls and lager from San Miguel, and a couple of others which my friend had one of which I think was named after the Pub name.

The hotel part from my view in the car park is possibly the large modern structure behind the building.
