I've walked past this small bar many times before, but finally visited for the first time on a recent Saturday evening visit to Liverpool.

Opening at 4pm, it's more of a late-night venue. Whilst there were no real ales, there is a good craft beer selection. On this occasion, there was Outpost Lager & Export, SALT Jute, Anspach & Hobday The Pale, North Lost Cosmonauts, Vault City Strawberry Sundae & Brew York Tonkoko. The cider was Lilley's Select.

Customers seemed to be local regulars and with its music venue at the rear, there is obviously a focus on music. I'm sure I'll be back here sometime soon.

has reopened as Outpost but very little has changed from its previous incarnation. It's a basic hipsters bar with a focus on pizza and rock music. The biggest change is that they now serve craft beer on tap along with the refrigerated cans/bottles. I have been here a few times to watch music and the pizza is quite nice but it's a bit of a sweaty little bar when it gets busy. Worth popping in for tea before going to drink somewhere better like the Roscoes or Dispensary up the road.

A small bar that also serves pizza and sadly the pervading smell of grilled cheese and tomato can be a bit cloying. Its a small single room with a small room to the rear that's used for functions (in this case a viewing of John Carpenter's The Thing). There are a total of 10 unmarked taps on the wall behind the bar dispensing 6 crafty ale sort of stuff(you'll have to look at a blackboard, or ask, if you want to know what's on). Plenty of overpriced cans of coke sized cans of idiot beer also available.

Brainy Pool left this review about Maguire's Pizza Bar

a minuscule 'pizza bar' and live music venue. bottled drinks available including decent (but very expensive) selection of craft. it's way too small for comfort but a nice friendly place.
