Will Larter left this review about Munros Bar @ Taigh Ailean Hotel

The bar is up some steps to the left, in an extension built onto the original "Alan's House" (Taigh Ailean is pronounced Ty Alan), which must have been a fairly standard sized croft house. The bar is at the far end, with every table occupied by diners at the time of my visit, with others waiting at the bar for one to become free, like in a restaurant. There are two hand pumps, with two beers from local Isle of Skye brewery, one brewed (or tweaked) especially for this hotel. The Blaven was ok, but strangely not as good as the keg version I'd had a few nights earlier at the Uig Hotel. The toilets are downstairs, where there is also another dining roon, so I suppose that anyone who finds the stairs challenging could avoid the bar alogether. As with a lot of Scottish hotels, the bar becomes the haunt of locals after the tourists have left, with a pool table taking up what might otherwise be thought of as valuable dining space.

Only open between 6pm and 11pm, nice views of MacCleod's tables.
