Blackthorn _ left this review about Aluna

A good sized bar and restaurant that has recently opened in a venue that was formerly a Thai restaurant, it is essentially split in to two halves with the bar area being to the left and the restaurant to the right.

Decor wise it seems to have something of a bling factor with plenty of mirrors, gold curtains, and so on. The flooring is dark wood strip whilst much of the paintwork is a shade of khaki green, although there are also large windows all around to make the most of the outlook. Plenty of exposed filament light bulbs hung around as is de rigueur in any pub refurbishment these days, and there were also various other random assorted objects such as a ram’s skull and a tailor’s dummy.

Although there were three keg taps on the bar, none of them were marked up which made life rather difficult. After enquiring with the barman it transpired that these were two lagers and a cider, so no ale on tap, real or otherwise. The cider was Thatcher’s Gold though, so I was happy enough. It would appear that cocktails are something of a speciality here, with one popular one being flambéed and producing a spectacularly large ball of fire. However, if its cocktails you’re after I would suggest that the Milk Thistle at the other end of the centre would be infinitely preferable.
