Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Platform Ale House

Well-known alehouse situated in the main former station building, featuring a reasonable number of tables in and around the bar, supplemented by more seating in a small side room and a few flimsy patio chairs put out in the forecourt. Limited decor, mostly pictures of trains as you would expect. Five of six handpumps in use when I visited, dispensing Bitter and Area 51 from from Rowton, Purity Mad Goose, Single Speed Fox from Fixed Wheel (£3.20) and Enville Old Porter. A Freedom Four lager is also offered for those so inclined.

Visited a few times since it opened. Housed in the old station buildings, walls sporting some railway memorabilia, the place can feel a little cluttered with tables and chairs - especially when a band takes over one corner as with last night. The service is always great and there are usually 5 ales on with a cider: Enville Ale and Ginger, Green Duck Porter, Rowton Area 51 and Bitter. The Ginger and Porter were excellent. They do snacks and the pork pie was decent too. Music came from the band, who were fine but the place being small it was a little loud. Make sure you go out the front for the patio area, especially if you have had a few! More than worth a visit.

Friendly platform side pub basic but excellent, dog friendly with canine snacks, on the ball landlady. Restrained amount of railway porn and a good local following. Basement toilets and of course handy for the train.

Basic refurb of the former station building now in private hands. There are some benches outside in the car park. The toilets are down a very narrow staircase to the cellar. Nicely done but not quite as good as the refurb at nearby Codsall.

A basic micro, which is comfortable and spacious. The staff were very welcoming on our visit. Also, I thought the ale choice and quality was excellent. 6 pumps on our visit, dispensing 5 ales and 1 cider. My Broughs Gold definitely passed the two pint challenge and another gem was the Three Tuns XXX. Another feature was their cobs, which went hand in hand with a good pint.

A micropub in quite a large room in the former station house, the entrance is from the car park. It's quite basic inside with lots of pine furniture and a small bar and the bar staff are used to the hourly arrival and departure of real ale drinkers on the local stopping service.A barking dog owner tried to explain that this pub was the dog's local, but even he had to remove the yapping mutt to the confines of benches outside once the displeasure of the PuG crawlers had been noted.
Ale selection from the 6 handpumps was Broughs Gold,Three Tuns Mild and XXX,a real cider and Rowton Area 51 (in good nick).
Worth getting off a train and supping for an hour,I enjoyed my visit.

An excellent watering hole. Worth missing a few trains for. Each missed train gives you an extra hour drinking time! Rather large for a micro pub but it has that micro pub atmosphere. Purity Gold, Salopian Free Fall and Rowton Moonstruck Mild were all Excellent. (the Mild getting me my 1st "Shropshire Mild in May" sticker).
Also on were Three Tuns XXX, Purity Bunny Hop and Bishops Blend Cider.

This new micropub is situated on the down platform at Albrighton station. There is no access from the platform itself but it's a short walk to the other side of the building where there is also a reasonable sized area of external seating.
Inside it's a decent size for a micropub consisting of a roughly square room with mostly low tables and chairs, a wooden floor and a small servery by the platform windows.
This servery has six hand pumps which had a cider, Gorgeous Ruby Porter, Brough's LPA, Rowton Hooker Tackle, Shropshire Brewer Sawn Off Bitter and Tring Brock Bitter. I tried the Ruby Porter (£3.20) and the Brough LPA (£3.00) both of which were excellent. The friendly landlady explained how they only order beers from brewers that will deliver direct to them. It seemed odd that it included Tring but they only need to send a van up the nearby M40 and take the M5 branch of the M42. Sadly I hadn't noticed the CAMRA discount but will be returning sooner rather than later and will remember it then. I really like these out of the way station pubs rather than the better known expensive ones you find at major termini.
