Blue Scrumpy left this review about North Taproom: Snow Hill

This is an interesting addition to the Birmingham drinking scene. I've been to the North Brewing Taproom in Leeds before and this bar seemed like an identikit version of that one.

The glass-fronted bar looks out over the tramway, with some undercover outdoor seating also at the front. Inside, the only difference to the Leeds branch is that the bar is on the left-hand side. All beers are keg (although WhatPub suggests they offer cask at weekends), dispensed from taps on the back wall. A beer list is projected onto the wall. The list comprised North Telstar, Pinata, Full Fathom 5, Transmission & New Alphabet, North/MKI Yuzu Pale Ale, North/Craft Beer Channel Double Triple Fruited Gose & Frontaal Push The Button. I opted for a third of the 10% New Alphabet, which was a very enjoyable imperial stout.

The seating arrangement feels like a Wagamama's with bench-type seating. There's even an open kitchen in the far right corner service some kind of oriental proposition, which seemed to be appealing to the lunch crowd.

I enjoyed my visit to this branch more than the Leeds one, but I think that was more about timing than anything else.

A modern craft keg bar in a new development close to the main entrance to Snow Hill station. There is exterior seating protected by the building overhang, while inside the bar runs the full length of the left side, the rest of the space has either drinking shelves or high tables with modern metal furniture. There is a seperate open kitchen operated by Little Bao Boy offering asian small dishes and monthly larger dish specials.
The 22 taps are not all for beer, some offer wine, cocktails and sparkling cider but there will be around 14 beers with a variety of styles,IPA's,Pilsners,Sours,Porter etc ,mainly from North Brewing but also including on my trip three guests chosen by North from brewers they respect and often brew in collaberation with.
No real ale,but a wide choice of keg, generally priced by the schooner. My North Full Fathom 5 ,a coffee and coconut porter was enjoyable and £5 for a schooner.
I would pop in again to give something exotic a go ,but maybe not base myself here for a session. It serves it's purpose well and is worth including on a crawl.

Real Ale Ray left this review about North Taproom: Snow Hill

If you're into your craft beers, then this is an excellent bar to visit. The beer board displayed behind the bar was very clear and concise. There was 17 craft beers to choose from on our visit, two of which were interesting sours. Also included was one cider and a choice of six wines. There was no ale on our visit.
The interior was very streamline and minimalist, which I quite liked especially the bar area. They also have a small in house kitchen supplying various Asian cuisine, which was reasonably priced. My beer was excellent, especially the Leviathan from Sutton Coldfield. The barman was friendly and chatty and he didn't mind offering a few beer samples out to me.

Tap Room for North Brewing - in fairly classic Craft Beer Bar styling - nice front patio with plenty of seating, inside its all high benches/stools in rows. A long bar offering coffees and of course North Brewing. Mainly Kegs. All the options you would expect and many you wouldnt. Fridges with beers from other craft outlets.

Empty on a Saturday lunch - not sure this can be solely down to the train strikes - it was still one of the last shopping days before Xmas.

Would come again, probably in the Summer.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about North Taproom: Snow Hill

The former Bar Opus has been given a comprehensive makeover by North Brewing, with a full-length counter along one side with an impressive row of 24 taps of various sorts on the bar-back. However, although not large inside, the high ceiling still does nothing to stop it sounding cavernous, but the full-height windows along the main façade do at least admit a decent amount of natural light. There are also a number of patio tables outside under cover of the main building above. On this first visit under its new incarnation, I found two cask ales - Vanishing Point blonde and the excellent Season's Reverse bitter (£4.80) - plus 14 craft keg beers, a couple of ciders, Aperol Spritz, North Negroni and three draught wines (white, red and sparkling). Overall, a substantial improvement.

Plush modern cocktail bar and cafe/kitchen, part of the new Snow Hill Offices. Its sleek, high ceilinged and light, with eye-nerving diamond wallpaper over the large end wall.

Long bar serving cocktails and drinks such as Estrella, Suffolk cider and keg Bombadier from appropriately fancy over the top pumps. There is an open kitchen on the opposite side and there is some outside seating adjoining the new tram lines, adding to the cafe culture atmosphere.

Not a place to spend a lot of time, its too clean & modern, but was full of people catching a light bite and drink.
