Nice enough conversion of an impressive building. Very busy on my lunchtime visit. 2 ales on. The Backyard brewery Hoard was in good shape. I would happily call in again.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Cosy Club

Substantial bar / restaurant in an impressive Midland Bank conversion. The interior designer must have had a field-day in here, and there's plenty of space under the high ceiling for a decent-sized mezzanine. Also has additional seating / dining areas in several side rooms. On this visit, we found Salopian beers on the two handpumps - Shropshire Gold and Oracle - although neither were in particularly good condition.

A splendid building both inside and out and great to see it revived. This part of the city is becoming increasingly busy, with the Lost and Found across the road, Purity bar and a Viva Brazil due to open across the road. The interior is spacious with a mezzanine area. The décor is bright and modern, but still retains the classical opulent theme. Two hand pumps with a Gorilla Stout and one clip turned back. I wasn't too fussed at all the animal heads stuck on the main wall.

Another conversion that's slightly up its own arse but that said it is nice. There were 2 ales on. It does do as it sez on the tin actually as some of the seating is quite cosy. Maybe I was just tired.

A further fit out of a former bank in Birmingham City Centre, this time the former Midland Bank, opposite the Lost and Found and close to Joint Stock for those that like these grand buildings.

Its run by the small chain based in Bristol and has been fitted out well, enough grandeur with a front bar area, a mezzanine and rear area for eating and a small lounge area on the right hand side.

Selection of drinks including a real ale - Sadlers on my visit which was kept well.

Lots of pillars and affective decorative lighting, the main area has a polished wood floor and a long ornate bar.

A smaller building than the other two former banks but still a fine space.

More real ale choice needed
