The pub, a conversion of a corner shop by the looks of it, has been well described by Alan below. The five hand pumps were serving two beers from Spitting Feathers (Old Wavertonian and Session Beer), and beers from Warwickshire, Milestone and Atomic at the time of my visit. I counted 10 cardboard boxes with cider polypins in, stacked up on the bar, though there were some duplicates among them. I tried both the Spitting Feathers beers, which were in good condition and also good value at £2.50 a pint. There is some comfortable seating upstairs for when the bar area gets too crowded, which it would do with more than half a dozen in, I reckon. Conversation, in such a small space, is almost inevitably shared with everyone present, but if you've no problem with that then this is the place.

The Beer Shack is Mansfields new micro pub,it is situated in the shadow of the large viaduct which runs through the middle of Mansfield.

Once inside there is a very small oblong shaped room, there is a full length bar on the left side, there are tall black leather chairs and a drinking ledge on the right side, the floor is wood laminate.
There were five real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Walls County Town Gun Dog Bitter, which went down very well, the other beers were Banks & Taylor Dragons Gold,Nottingham Centurian ND,Butcombe Rare Breed and Woodlands APA,there were four boxes of cider on the bar,no music or machines.
There are rooms upstairs but i did'nt look into these.
The pub was very busy on my Saturday afternoon visit with lots of conversation and banter.
This is the smallest of the micro pubs i have visited, but probably the most friendly i have been in.
