E TA left this review about The Red Post Inn

A rather spectacular Victorian pub, originally an hotel and which now still does B&B. The building is ornate and unusual, and it has a Grade II listing. It’s in its own grounds, though sadly it looks a bit shabby as the car park is unsightly and there is no real garden to speak of, just a few benches at the front overlooking the road through the village. Inside, there is a scruffy public bar at the rear and a much grander lounge with a larger rotunda-like bay. The other half of the building was closed off when we visited but it seems to be used for entertainment of sorts. It all feels in need of some tlc. We were greeted by a friendly landlord and an enthusiastic miniature poodle. The lounge had a couple of TV screens showing live sports, while the public bar was buzzing with robust banter. Three handpumps in the lounge and a couple in the public bar, Doombar was advertised but only Bath Gem was being served, which was,to be fair, a better bet and was in good condition. Architecture aside it wasn’t that great and I don’t think I’d make the effort again if there was a nearby alternative.
