Helen Iwanczuk left this review about Dog & Muffler Inn

The Dog and Muffler Inn, is a country pub set in spectacular surroundings, but a little off the beaten track. If you're on foot, there is a steep road which is alright when walking to the pub, but some exertion is required for the journey back. But the trip is worth it
The interior of the pub has a cosy feel to it with traditional pub furniture, but it is the garden that is worth the shoe leather. It is a well maintained garden, with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. Unfortunately there is a telegraph pole striding across the landscape, which does tend to shatter the illusion a little! But the garden is such a tranquil place, with the distant sounds of sheep and cattle, I could have spent a considerable time there if it were not for transport issues.
I've heard good things about the food, so maybe I will return on another occasion to try it. There were three ales on, Doom Bar, Butty Bach and one other.
