Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Tabernacle

Interesting-looking building, set back from the road behind a feature gateway in an enclosed area where the patio / decking beer garden can be found. The bar is on the ground floor, together with a few smaller event spaces (with the theatre above), but is open to all until 21:00. No real ale, and just three keg beers available: Peroni, Budweiser Budvar (£5.00) and Guinness.

Rex Rattus left this review about The Tabernacle

This pub is housed in a magnificent red brick Grade II listed building erected in the late Victorian period. It’s been used as a community centre for many years, and has a rich past as a venue for numerous music acts. It still describes itself as a theatre, art gallery, dance studio, bar & kitchen, and meeting and rehearsal rooms.

As you walk through the iron gates you pass through a courtyard with masses of outside seating. Inside the building it looks just like a hotel reception. Indeed I spotted a “reception” sign, so maybe it really is a hotel lounge. There is no real ale, although I did spot some fonts of some kind on the counter. I doubt that this is the sort of place that a pub aficionado would choose to patronise.
