David Ross left this review about Luggers Bar (Tiree Lodge Hotel)

Probably the better of the island’s two pubs, but loses out from being about a mile and a half away from the main settlement, Scarinish. On an island with almost non-existent public transport, this becomes an issue unless you’re actually staying here, or nearby. Although it’s the bar of the Tiree Lodge Hotel and is entered via the reception area, Luggers has a pub atmosphere to it, with a pool table, dart board, TV and an old fashioned stove fire. Drink prices are about the same as the other hotel, “The Scarinish” (e.g. £3.15 for a pint of lager), but this is a better bar. There are excellent views from the window of Traigh Mhor, the long beach where the Tiree Wave Classic windsurfing event is held each October. Meals are served daily from 12.30 until 2.30 and 5.00 until 9.00 p.m. either in the bar or in the adjoining restaurant. The food was excellent, but not cheap.
