Meet a friend for a drink at the Meadowlark at 3pm midweek & ordered a bottle of wine. By 4.45pm we decided to order some food and was show to another table. We ordered another bottle of wine with the food order. Food wasn't good, but we didnt complain.
By 7pm we were joined by my husband who ordered some food and a pint of beer.
By 8.30pm we were in the process of ordering a dessert & a glass of coke and a glass of wine.
We were refused service as we had drunk too much!!!!!
The manager had refused to serve us, even though we had been in there for 6 hours nearly, and hadnt been disruptive, abusive and nor were we drunk. We are in our mid forties, and I run a succesful business.
I have never been refused a drink after only a few glasses, and eating in there too.
The manager couldnt explain himself, but refused us anyway.
I refused to pay the food bill, until they can give us a apology.
we were in complete shock and found the whole event embarrassing.
We have been there previously, and although the food was never great, it is mid range prices, and a new cleanish pub.
Shame the management is very poor and there are obviously serious staffing issues.
This pub is to be avoided, especially over the festive season if you are looking for a good time and a few drinks.
Very dissappointed with this pub.

my wife & i have eaten at this restaurant many times since it has opened, & have never had a bad meal.
we ordered large rump steaks, with all the trimmings priced @ £12.99, works out @ £6.50 each person. where in the world can you get 2 meals for this price, piping hot, well served in pleasant surroundings by friendly waitresses?
all our friends now go there & have also enjoyed it!!

the pub itself is very nice however, the food is expensive for what you get. The food is tasty but when we ordered side onion rings you only receive 6 for £1.55. we also ordered the steak which was nice however, i ordered chicken and bacon surf and turf with cheese. When received it was literally a flat breast of chicken with 1 rasher of bacon smothered in cheese, no bun as if it should of been in a burger. This came with a small side salad and chips. Again this was tasty but very expensive for what it was worth, like £11.95 when this could of been around £7 - £8. will i go back again, probably not for food but maybe for drinks only...

This is a new Marston's pub that opened yesterday and had 4 real ales on,2 from Jennings and 2 from Marston's.A very food orientated pub so you have to be careful where you sit but at least the beer was in very good form and of course this is good news with a new pub opening instead of over 20 a week closing.
