Soup Dragon left this review about The Travellers Rest
Finding myself in Derby again while Mrs Soup picked up the youngest Soupette, I availed myself of the opportunity to visit a couple of places - the Travellers Rest being one. Fake-Tudor in appearance - the lower half in a stone look, with an upper in white and beam, it still sports some Ansells signage. There is a garden/patio/smoking area at the back. The interior has a central island wood serving bar with a distinct bar, lounge and pool area: the bar having TVs (not on) and darts, the lounge having some local history pictures and the pool area having, well, pool tables. There was jukebox music playing at a decent level. The clientele was clearly local and friendly, as was the service. The tap drinks saw Thatcher's cider and Birra Moretti for the hot days, but I had the one real ale on offer - Pedigree - as it was evening, raining, and I am miserable anyway. The Ped was decent enough. I enjoyed my pint here.
