A decent mix of dining and drinking pub, nicely separated one end and another, eaters to left drinkers to the right, each end has its own door. The drinking business end with the counter is obviously on the right with its three pulls, two triple T-bars and three solos. Slightly odd cask line up of Taylor's Boltmaker, Bradfield something and er Wadworths 6X. The drinking end is definitely more village pub like with machines and music although the decor throughout is tasteful with parquet flooring, herring bone tiling and a cream colour scheme. The free newspapers were a mix as well, Daily Mail, Daily Mirror and the local rag. I quite liked this one, the beer wasn’t bad and the banquettes comfy. It offers the villagers poker on Monday, a quiz night Tuesday and occasional live music.

Looks fairly traditional from the outside but within has had an IKEA-type makeover, with minimalist decor and modern tables. A strong food trade has the lounge bar counter converted into a food servery. Still a good local following though and the main bar room is fair enough, with Bradfield Farmers Blonde and Tetley Cask on handpump. I narrowly missed a beer festival in the garden, which looked interesting.

this one seemed to be a quite decent pub on my Tuesday afternoon visit although the customers were a bit thin on the ground. There was 3 cask beers on show, one from Timothy Taylor's plus a Theakston's and one from Sharp's brewery.
