Old Boots left this review about The York

Cosy and very traditional local, basically one square room with a large three faced bar counter, it appears to cater for the needs of more mature drinkers. In addition to the usual keg suspects the two handpumps were serving the usual local cask suspects from John Smiths and Black Sheep, as the pub is Cask Marque approved the beer was a little chilly but in good nick. Traditional furnishings and the décor is a mix of photos of sports teams and HMS York, there are the traditional horse brasses affixed to beams and less frequently seen some memorials to old regulars.
