E TA left this review about The Hadley Arms

A traditional town pub in need of updating. It sits on a busy corner and has limited parking at the front, only room for 3 or four cars. There is an enclosed paved garden at the rear though it appeared a bit unkempt. Inside, the bars at the front have been conjoined into an open plan arrangement with a central servery which is stone clad and has a tiled cowling. The area around the bar is tiled, while the side areas and the smaller seating area at the back are carpeted. There is a single TV on the wall, and there is a tropical fish tank which provided more interesting viewing than the game show on the TV and a dual-aspect open fire which failed to provide any warmth. The barman-that-time-forgot didn’t know what WiFi was and, when we asked about the Internet, picked up the TV remote to look for it; we gave up. Two handpumps on the bar, one clipped Tribute which was dry – apparently it had only been delivered that day – and one with Doombar which was well past its best. Other customers seemed to be mainly elderly locals. Not the most comfortable pub, while the poor beer quality would put me off coming back.
