Looking at the building from the outside one assumes that the Wagon & Horses used to be a large multi-roomed pub, much like any other stand-alone pub in Manchester. However these heady days have passed, in fact I thought it was derelict as I approached from the other side of the road, but then I saw the barman gazing out of the window at all the people walking past. Pushing the door I was actually surprised to gain entry, but I wasn’t surprised to see that the bar is found behind a thick metal security gate. The rest of the pub seemed to be locked up, so I assume that the building is now shared. There was one other customer who was drinking a lager from the available standard keg range. I had half a Carling and sat watching random boxing on the small TV. There is a pool table on the other side of the bar counter, but this is the only real extravagance. The barman/governor was polite enough, but this isn’t somewhere I’ll be visiting again.

This place looks like a dump from the outside and though its not that bad inside its still a bit run down. Multi-roomed with a pool room to the left of the bar. No real ale.

Looks to be a huge pub from the outside, but inside the public area is quite small. As I entered I got a horrible smell of drains which was really unpleasant. It's all one room with 3 separate areas. There's a pool table in the room to the left of the bar, a small lounge(ish) and the bar. Some interesting pictures on the wall are it's only real features. No real ale and neither the Fosters or the Carling would pour, so I had a half of draught Budweiser for £1.50. I can't think of any reason why I would ever visit this pub again. One best left to the locals I reckon.
