Will Larter left this review about The Crown

A tourist pub close to the sea, with a large beer garden or patio. Totally dependent on the season and the weather, so that when I was here for a visit in early spring it was closed. My summer visit found it open, but it was fairly quiet on a Sunday mid-evening. I would guess the pub was built in the 1930s, but having been opened out in recent years it has no features of note. There were four hand pumps on the bar with the real ales on offer being Doom Bar, Wherry and two from Lacons. I went for Encore, a "bitter, zesty ale" according to its brewer, but a slightly disappointing and hazy beer lacking oomph when I tried it. Not undrinkable - I gave it a possibly generous NBSS 2.5 - but certainly nothing to write home about. My notes made at the time included a cryptic "not bad for its type (XRA)", by which I meant that this is an ok pub except for the real ales, which are quite clearly not selling in the sort of quantities that could justify having four of them on the bar.

Large and fairly well-run pub on seafront, with a number of rooms and outside area. Not unpleasant for a pub in its location.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Crown Inn

Large family pub part of Norwich inns, facing the sea front. Three ales on, London Pride, Abbott and Woodfordes Wherry, which was good. Lots of people dining on our visit. This is a very average pub and to me it didn't really have much going for it.
