More pretension in the Chipping Norton surrounds with a buffed flagstone floor, exposed stone and uplit bar, and wooden-floored (extended) dining area a few steps down to the right, with a rolling beer garden further and beyond. Lounge-singer muzak and starters from £12, plus mains from £25 upwards meaning it's one for special occasions only food-wise (possibly if winning the Lottery) and some of the barstool seats are actual horse saddles. Three ales on: Purity UBU, Sapsucker (OK) and Severn Ale Nibley Ale, plus a huge minaret of Lindeboom lager. A half of each of the Sapsucker and Severn plus a tiny packet of Tyrrells Thai Chilli Rice Crackers came to £7.50. On the plus side, the generous garden offers stunning views.

Chose from our selection of beers, ales & cider - from real ales: Hooky Bitter, Mansfield Cask Ale & Ringwood Boondoggle to Peroni & Amstel on draught, Thatchers Cider & Guinness on tap as well as local international bottled beers, to a well-stocked and interesting wine cellar and an adventurous whisky collection to compliment any occasion.
