Quinno _ left this review about The Kings Arms Hotel

Upmarket mimsy Arkells place that probably makes most of its income off accommodation and food. Looks like an old coaching inn, enter the bar from the left-hand side of the old arched driveway, the right hand room was out of use but looked like a breakfast bar and function area. Contemporary and quite feminine in feel; neutral tones, cushions, wood. If you get your eye in you shall notice the startling undulations in the ceiling. Dire piped music ensured my stay was likely to brief. Two pumps with one ale on the go, a fair (NBSS 2.5) Arkells Hoperation. 5.5

Blackthorn _ left this review about Kings Arms Hotel

A pub/hotel in the heart of Malmesbury’s High Street, it consists of a hotel dining room to the left and a bar to the right. In between is a small alleyway leading to the hotel car park. There is also a small courtyard garden at the back, although with no vegetation and a view of the car park, it’s not the most attractive spot.

The bar does feel as though it’s part of a hotel in many ways with a parquet wood floor and floral wallpaper on the walls along with khaki green paintwork. In something of a contrast to this though, there were a couple of fruit machines, a couple of TV’s and even a glitter ball on the ceiling. A fixtures list detailed the forthcoming world cup matches, although how regularly sport is shown I’m not sure. A brick fire-place was towards the front of the bar.

The regular beers on tap were apparently both from Arkell’s with their 3B and Wiltshire Gold. The guest on this occasion was Experience Ginger IPA. Ciders were Strongbow and Stowford Press. Overall, although there’s nothing wrong with this pub, it didn’t have a great deal in the way of atmosphere and I am sure that there are better options nearby.
