Alex Conway left this review about Old Ship Inn

The Old Ship in Lowdham is an old pub recently refurbished just down from the cricket pitch a two minute walk from the main road passing through the Village. This used to be my favourite pub in the Village as it was a traditional old school village pub with well kept beer. After a short closure and a huge makeover the pub has reopened under the Marston’s stable although there is no obvious branding to signal this. The pub has thankfully kept its two room layout but I only managed the left had side room on my last visit as there was a private birthday party going on in the right hand side room that was once the “bar”. The room I went it was probably the designated lounge as it has more seating and is where meals are served but this wasn’t overly snug and more an extension of the other room. The decor was a lot of wood and was on the bright side with a lot of hard furnishings. The staff were young and friendly and I was presented with the choice of marstons 61 Deep Pale Ale, Jennnings sanecklifter and Ringwood Boonboggle. Not the most exciting for choices but my 61 Deep was drinkable and £3.20. Overall a clean and tidy but ultimately rather soulless middle of the road boozer with little to get excited or offended by. I’d call again if in Lowdham as it is not blessed with a designated top boozer but wouldn’t go out of my way to come back.

Real Ale Ray left this review about Old Ship Inn

This large Tudor style Inn, consists of a public bar on the right and lounge to the left. There was a large dining area towards the end of the pub. There were four ales on, serving up Black Sheep, TT Landlord, Castle Rock Harvest Pale. We went for the Woodfordes Wherry which was top notch. The clientele was mixed, half on lager and the other end of the bar on ales.
