February 2020*
The Lambley is a large gastro pub located on main street in the heart of the small village of the same name. Owned by Heinikwn this is very much inntje same style as some of their other outlets in similar affluent Nottinghamshire villages such as the Railway at Lowdham. A large sum has obviosily been spent in here the gastoro style present everywhere woith lots of exposed brick and that sort of thing. To say it is food orientated is understatement. When we entered with muddy wellies after a long walk through the countryside there was no obvious space within eyeshot to sit and have a drink as every table was set out for food. Unless there was an area I didn't see round the corner or maybe your just meant time sit at a tabkw full of cutlery? Luckily we just sat outside on the front benches but on first impressions it did not appear to cater for the sole beer drinker. The bar supports four had pumps which were dispensing Theakstons Old Perculier and Best Bitter (£3.60), Landlord and the local Blue Monkey Infinity IPA (£3.70) both were kept competantly however the lack of footfall for drinkers meant that they were obviously not in constant use which was evident from the somewhat subdued flavour. Overall it scores marks for the decor and internal furnishings but lacks on "pubiness". it would be great for a family Sunday lunch but for a session walk round the corner to the Woodlarke, a 6.5
