The Victoria Tavern is off the main road as you leave Ruddingtons main high street. Entering through the right brings you to a small seating area with a small bar serving it which is an addition to the main bar on the other side. The pub is in nice traditional style that I like with some low beams and carpets with bench seating. We ordered here and there was one pump on the bar dispensing a lone guest beer of St Austill Tribute at a reasonable £3 a pint and kept in a nice condition. Walking around the other side the pub opens up and has the main bar running across the middle with a bigger real ale selection. The downside is these were all pretty unoriginal offerings with Bass, Abbot, and Adnams Southwold being Permanents so it looks like I picked the best option in the guest Tribute. We sat on one of the many tables at the back end with the pub very busy with regulars from all age ranges including some couples. This had a really good pub atmosphere to it and is the sort of place you wouldn’t mind settling in for a few on a Saturday evening, no pretenses and decent ale beats any modern fancy pants pub in my opinion. A little worn around the edges and an uninspiring ale choice aside this pub hit the spot quite well. Another nice little place we stopped off on our crawl and one to return to if ever around these parts again.

The Victoria Tavern was a Bass tied house when i first went in it,it had a decent drink of Bass on the bar.
Once inside the pub seems pretty much unaltered from my first few visits, the left door takes you into a very smart and comfortable lounge, this room is oblong shaped and runs to the rear, the room is carpeted and has comfy bench seating to the front left, the bar is to the front right, the rear area has normal tables and chairs.
There is also a smaller separate bar room to the right.
There are four real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Charles Wells DNA which was a decent enough drink, the other beers were Bass,GK Abbot and Adnams bitter.
This is a very pleasant and comfortable pub to have a few drinks in,it was also very busy on my Saturday afternoon visit with drinkers.
