Will Larter left this review about Miners Arms Inn

We included this one in our Ashover and villages pub crawl, and made a point of getting here before 3pm because that is the closing time shown on the copper plate beside the front door (see photo). As we approached, at a quarter to three, we could see that the car park was full to bursting and on entering it was clear that the pub was too, with no sign of imminent closure. Perhaps they just can't be bothered to change the plate - and there's no website that I have been able to find with the correct closing times.

This is very much a food-oriented place. In fact, we struggled to find the bar when we first entered, with so many diners everywhere that the slightly obscure doorway to it had escaped our notice. Once there it was slightly disappointing to find only two hand pumps, one with Old Rosie cider and the other with Oakham Bishops Farewell. Never mind, the beer was fine and we managed to find a little space to drink it in. Some other drinkers arrived shortly after, so we weren't quite the only people not eating out of about sixty there, but it has to said that this establishment is much more a restaurant than it is a pub.
