Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Goat

A shame - this could be quite a good-looking pub if it was done up a bit, with an arcaded bow window between the two entrances and an island bar. It could also do with a better drinks offering, but no real ale and limited other draught options, so just had a quick John Smith's before heading for the nearby station.

E TA left this review about The Goat Inn

Previously The Duke of Clarence, this Georgian pub was first licensed in 1839, the name taken as a tribute to the recently deceased King William IV who left no male heir, so the title was suspended. The building has an attractive part-tiled frontage, and is now a crowded teen pub which consists of a single large bar with a central serving point. Music was excessively loud and unpleasant, you couldn't hear yourself bleat. The herd of kids guarding the main door was also excessively loud and unpleasant. There is no real ale. Although the Victorian building is of some historic interest, I have no desire to return here.

Steve C left this review about The Goat Inn

The Goat Inn is a high street pub with an island bar that had a handful of locals sitting at it when I visited on a recent Monday evening. Sky Sports is advertised in the window, but the locals were avidly watching Brit Cops UK on the plasma screen. There is a pool table that was pushed into the corner and out of action, but there is a dartboard on the rear wall. A DJ is advertised on Friday and Saturday evenings when I imagine there is a late license.

I found the service to be very friendly, but there is no real ale in this pub. I didn’t see anything in here that would have me rushing back.
