Visited yesterday after visiting the Chantry Inn first. At the bar are three hand pulls, two of which were in operation at the time of my visit offering Bradfield Farmers Blonde and Bradfield Farmers Belgian Blue. Food is served including pub classics, and there are daily roast and pie specials. Yesterday's pie specials were steak and ale or chicken and leek - I was tempted by the chicken and leek and it was a proper hearty meal with a good chunk of pie, mash (chips also available), veggies and absolutely soaked in gravy. I couldn't fault it at all. I went for the Belgian Blue which was a bit of a fruity number and had a definite blue/purple tinge to it.

Service was polite and friendly. Cards are accepted. Music was playing. The pub is nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. It has obviously been opened up at some point but still retains the feel of separate sections presumably where separate rooms used to be originally. The main room is to the left as you walk in, in front of the bar, and there are two other areas off to the right. It has the vibe of a nice traditional pub, and I would be very happy to return.

The Old Crown is a fairly large looking three storey stone built pub.
Once inside there is a single room which runs the width of the pub,the bar faces, the right side is seperated into two halfs, these areas had comfy bench seating with chairs and small stools, these areas were also carpeted, the left side had a dart board with bench seating to the front.
There were three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Pennine Well Nice which was well nice, the other beers were Pennine Natural Gold and Stones cask bitter.
There was some decent background music playing,i quite liked this pub.
