E TA left this review about Old Ship

A member of the Sizzling Pubs chain, the main theme here is pub/diner, plenty of dining tables but no bar stools, providing a cliched food menu - although the curry/burger theme nights looked like good VFM for families. There is a single large L-shaped, carpeted bar with picture windows giving a pleasant view across the Solent. The ceiling is 1970s Artex, the beams are fake, there are gaming machines and a tv screen at one end. There is even an ice cream fridge in the bar. The young staff are extremely pleasant and friendly. There were 2 ales on - I had Adnams Southwold which was much too cold and lost most of its flavour. The good views, ample parking and cheap food make it a reasonable place to stop for a bite but I didn't feel it really worked as a boozer.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Old Ship

Looks like a typical seafront hotel, but it does have a reasonably pub-like 'L'-shaped lounge inside. Large front and side patio, some with glass screens to help prevent you getting too windswept. As one would expect from a Sizzling Pubs outlet, plenty of cheap food deals were on offer. Two handpumps, providing Marstons EPA and GK Abbot (£2.70). (NB - Review dates from August 2011.)
