I called in here when an April shower threatened to make my wait for the bus to Middle Handley unpleasant. This is a very smart pub, as befits its inclusion in M&B's Premium Country Pubs group. It's a lovely old building in mellow stone, with a garden and car park in front. Internally it's smart, with some classy furniture, though not many tables; whether this is a legacy of Covid distancing measures I couldn't tell. The bar has a long row of hand pumps, with three empty, one with a Doom Bar clip reversed, and just one beer actually on. I did note nine keg taps, with several lagers, Guinness and Aspalls cider, plus Virtuous IPA from Kirkstall brewery. My half of Landlord was in tremendous condition, but ridiculously expensive at the equivalent of £5.20 a pint. Service was friendly and local, unlike the price of beer.

Upmarket Gastro pub with three hand pulls on. Jaipur was an unexpected find, but it was very, very cloudy and showed no signs of clearing as I finished it. Tasted fine.

Friendly staff.
