David Walton left this review about The Cat & Fiddle

Cask just Doom Bar and another non-operational hand pump. Boring keg range of Pravha, Madri, Estrella, Peroni, Asahi, Guinness, Neck Oil, Aspall Cider.

Pub with a thatched roof on outskirts of New Milton. Extensively modernised with bar counter along rear wall in front of main entrance with a bar area with parquet flooring and a blue velvet banquette on the wall to the right of the door opposite the bar counter with small round tables and comfy chairs the other side thereof. Some larger round tables in the main floor space. Other side of the entrance there was some more space with regular seating designated for drinkers. Off to the very right of the venue was another lounge type area for drinkers with a fire grate and carpeted floor. The dining area including a modern extension out the front and was reserved solely for diners andso I didn’t investigate that side of the pub. Feels like the venue has been over modernised and it was soulless on my early evening visit.
