Not as in your face as the nearby Royal Guardsman, this is a square candy-cane shape internally, with a bar against the right-hand wall running almost half the length - a squarish area at bottom had a TV against the right-hand wall screening a Gaelic Football match. A TV to the left as I entered screened a PL game. There's a small, patio-type area out back where you can see a rather innocuous part of the Thames. No real ale, despite the presence of a single, unclipped stump: a pint of Guinness was £3.80.

An ok Irish bar, but no handpumps or real ale in evidence, not a place for me.

There is no way that you could be mistaken about the nationality of this pub with the barman wearing an Ireland top and all of the Irish paraphernalia up on the walls. I spotted three screens doted around the pub which were all showing sky sports news and there are signs up advertising Sky and GAA. Some modern furniture is found in front of the patio doors at the rear of the pub and the recently added decking out the back has views of the river.

The Pride cost me £2.50 a pint, which probably made it taste better than it was and Young's Ordinary was also available alongside a hand pump that was not being used. There is also a standard draught selection and I’ve also sampled the Guinness which is ok.

I liked it in here before the addition of the decking and I think it may have just got a little bit better.
