Large pub arranged round a central bar, attracting younger, sports or music-following drinkers, so not really one for a quiet pint. The interior retains some original features and woodwork, but all painted a turgid shade of blue-grey. Courtyard garden at rear. Doom Bar and a guest ale available, also a real cider in a box behind the bar.

A large Victorian corner pub, now a single carpeted L-shaped bar with a lounge area at one end which is usually sacrificed to live music acts. There are gaming machines and a noisy jukebox which played a wide range of styles including Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. WiFi is Enterprise's own, so use it at risk of attracting more spam. A TV showed live Sky Sports, but the commentary was drowned out by the other noises. The staff are friendly enough, and the clients were a mixed bag, many there just for the live music. Two ales on, Ringwood Razorback and GK IPA, both OK. It's OK as far as it goes, but it's nothing special for the area.

Alan Winfield left this review about Royal Albert

The Royal Albert is joined onto the Duke of Devonshire and it is a lot bigger pub with a completly different atmosphere to it.
Once inside this pub had one largish room that was dimly lit and had a disco playing, the pub was very busy with younger drinkers but it seemed a decent enough place to have a drink in.
This pub was a Whitbread tied house when we went in here and there was one real ale on here which was Everards Tiger bitter and this was a decent drink.
