Mr Fox is a new cocktail pub in Surrey Street. It has a wide variety of cocktails and craft beers. It now offers food such as rotisserie chicken, burgers, vegan burgers, etc.

It has been massively improved and hopes to put the venue's history in the past to help improve Croydon and bring more people into Surrey Street. It has two shuffleboard tables and is dog friendly!

Great look, great vibe, great food & drink.

This place only opens from 22:00 onwards on Friday and Saturday nights, so is a rather dubious entry on this website. The place has been through various guises over recent years, having been an Irish themed bar called Jim Thompsons before switching to the current club style venue through incarnations as Vintage and Rehab. It doesn't look very welcoming on approach - all of the windows are blacked out and there is a general scruffiness to its external appearance. Inside, it's all shiny surfaces and low level lighting with pounding music and a cocktail menu - nothing like a pub really. They had Tuborg larger on draught the last time I was here plus various bottled options. Prices weren't as horrific as I'd anticipated. The venue is split level, with the ground floor space offering a lounge to the right, bar in the centre and a dancefloor replete with large mirrors to the left and rear. Stairs lead down to a cosier second bar with a big pillar in the middle of the dancefloor and a servery along the back wall.

All in all, not much to recommend here unless you're looking for a new late night venue following the demise of the equally depressing Tiger Tiger. It's not really a pub and the low rating reflects this.

SLVR is open from 21:00 until 04:00 on Fridays and Saturdays. It is closed for the rest of the week because it is a club where young people go at the weekend to do young people weekend things.

There is free entry for two hours from when it opens until 23:00, which is the only reason I can see for it being included on this website.
